You meant to say something.

A colleague helps you out, handles a difficult situation, or does work you value. You notice. But the moment passes, or all you manage is “good job”.

You want to express what you appreciate. Finding the words is one part of it. Remembering to say them is another.

Give appreciation a place in everyday work.

I'm developing a small educational product around these practical questions:

01

Find the words

How can you express what you appreciate beyond a quick ‘good job’ so the person understands what you value?

02

Remember to say it

How can you remember to give appreciation when everyday work keeps pulling your attention elsewhere?

03

Make it a habit

How can giving appreciation become something you do regularly, rather than something you keep meaning to do?

Alongside the practical side, we'll look at the background that helps you understand appreciation and use it thoughtfully.

The starting point

People bring their own motivation.

Leaders can remove demotivators and stop undermining that motivation. That's the perspective behind my work on appreciation.

Start with the people and the work you already appreciate. Learn to express it and give it space in your working day.
